This Week in Grade 1 CC

Grade 1 had another busy week in class!

Our class continues to inquire into the different ways we communicate. This week, we investigated effective ways to communicate locally and globally. The children shared how they communicate with their relatives and friends using technology. We also investigated non-verbal ways to communicate using sign language and symbols.

In Math, our learning continues to focus on exploring 2D shapes. The children investigated the different attributes of polygons and other shapes. We talked about the different shapes of everyday things and did a 2D shape hunt around the school.

The children are doing an amazing job learning to use connectives such as: first, next, the, after that and finally to write their procedural writing.

Our class will be very busy in the next two weeks before the break. We will be wrapping up our unit of inquiry and we have a few school wide activities to look forward to.
