This Week in Grade 1 CC

How can you find out about your personal history? Our inquiry this week focused on finding out ways to investigate and gather information to learn about our past. We discussed the different ways to research information and the types of questions that will provide meaningful answers. The children reflected and recorded their unforgettable memories, talked to their friends and interviewed their parents.

In math, we continue exploring the concept of time. Our class has been learning to tell time and show time using both the analog and digital clocks. We have been thinking about activities that happen during certain times of day or night. What time do you go to school? What time do you eat dinner? What time do you go to P.E? At home you can play games to help your child practice telling time. What time is it, Mr. Wolf?

In writing, our class continues to write personal narratives of their memorable past and how they have changed through time. After reading the book, “When I Was Little” by Jamie Lee Curtis, the children reflected on the past years and wrote their own version of the book. Fantastic writing this week, Grade 1CC!
