Highlights of the Week
Buddy Reading
Grade 1 enjoys and looks forward to Tuesday's buddy time. Grade 4 class is doing a fantastic job modelling reading with expression. Next week Grade 1 will have a turn to read to their buddies. Thank you, Miss Bridget's class!
Gecko's Choice
This week's lessons with Miss Dee focused on identifying small conflicts and choosing the right Gecko's Choice strategies to help resolve such conflicts.
Our class continues to gather information for our unit of inquiry's research project about weather. The children are learning to locate information from different sources such as books, the Internet, videos and interviews.
Making Mother Tongue Visible
It was great to have some of the parents and grandparents in our class this week for our unit of inquiry. We really enjoyed having you in class to help us write our weather vocabulary words in different languages.
Exploring Ten
Our class inquired into how we can use ten black dots.
We worked in pairs and small groups to make sums of ten.
