This Week in Grade 1CC

We have a lot to celebrate this week! Our class wrapped up our Weather unit and also finished our reflection on our Umbrella Project. For weeks,  the children collaboratively worked in groups with their peers, teachers and parents. Our volunteer teachers, parents and grandparents helped translate our weather words in their mother tongue. Four amazing parents diligently worked on preparing and assembling the materials for our project. What a great experience for everyone! Most of the children in our class sent their first email today! Well done, Grade 1 CC. Practice sending emails to your friends over the weekend.

Help

Our new unit of inquiry, Communication kicks off next week. We would appreciate it if you could send us your old communication devices such as telephones, cell phones, walkie-talkies etc. You could either donate them to the class or lend them to us through the duration of the unit.

School Reminders

ISPP Hat: The ISPP hat is a part of our school P.E. kit. Students MUST wear their hat to P.E. and recess. Parents need to go to the Finance Office to pay for a replacement hat if their child loses their hat.

Class Reminders:

·      NO School: Wednesday, November 9th is Teacher professional Development Day. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 10th.

·      Readers and Reading Log: Readers and reading logs need to be sent back to school daily. Your child needs to practice writing their sight words.

·      Pick–Up: You need to call or email Chantha in the ES office if there are changes in your child’s pick-up arrangement. If you are leaving the campus before 2:30 pm you also need to collect a gate pass (from the office) to be able to exit the school with your child. If your child is going home sick, the nurse will give you a gate pass when you collect your child from the clinic. 

·      These are the things that your child needs to bring to school daily:

 book and reading log

water bottle, snack and a hat
