We had a fantastic back to school week!
Our class spent the week reviewing some of the
concepts we learned before the holiday. In Math, we continue to work on number
operations and basic facts. We worked in small groups to practice solving
number problems using number strategies. The children also worked in pairs skip
counting to become more familiar with number patterns. We will continue our
lessons on fractions and link it to the concept of symmetry.
Our unit of inquiry, Express
Ourselves, kicked off with great success! The children eagerly participated in
our brainstorming activity and shared their personal experiences related to the
unit. Mr. Jon came to our class and read us a book to demonstrate different ways we can use our
voice to express feelings and ideas.
Highlights of the week:
Buddy Activity
We visited Miss Bridget’s
class and read books together. We also finished working on our collaborative
project from our previous unit of inquiry.
IT Class
The children reviewed logging
in and to their email and sent messages to their friends. We also did some Cat
in the Hat Math and Literacy games.
